Who Uses the HCTL-1100

The HCTL-1100 is used by application engineers who want a motion control platform quickly and at low cost. The HCTL-1100 solution is usually hundreds of dollars cheaper than motion control board-level products. Software engineers can easily use the HCTL-1100 in their applications due to its intuitive user interface and simple register-based design.

Common Applications

The most common application for the chip is for point-to-point motion profiles using a preset velocity and acceleration. Other unique profiles can be programmed via a synchronized command position issued by the host processor.

Benefits over Alternatives

The HCTL-1100 incorporates an efficient custom processor specifically for efficiency and speed. All major motion control functions are programmed on the chip to free up resources of the host processor. No external memory or hardware is needed to close the servo loop between the motor and incremental position encoder.
